Architectural Intern

Job Description & Responsibilities

Aid in the design process from conceptual design through construction documents. Prepare concept designs and construction documents using AutoCAD. Take field measurements of existing conditions. Create presentation documents to present designs to clients and compete in the bidding process.

Projects

• Liberty Terrace Proposal
• The site of Liberty Terrace was under competition from several developers. Levin had designed a series of work - live projects in the past. I modified previously prepared renderings to create a mock up of how this design could work at the site and prepared a proposal for the project.
• Betty Schwartz's Intimate Boutique
• A retail buildout of an existing commercial space for a new tennant. The client was looking for a more attractive and modern design to help an established, family-owned business compete with large national chains. The female form was a key inspiration for the curvy design of shelving units and floor patterns.
• Sacramento Ave Porch
• An old apartment building needed a replacement for an old, failing wooden porch that did not meet contemporary code requirements. Because of the restricted space available, some creative design and unusual structural calculation was required to fit a new porch into the old space while meeting code expectations.

Accomplishments

• Helped prepare presentation documents to win a major mixed-use project with the Liberty Terrace Design.
